You don’t need to have it all figured out. Recruitment is your chance to ask questions and get to know the community.
Ask about recruitment12+CSUSB units enrolled
2.50minimum cumulative GPA
Chapters may require a higher GPA. Confirm your eligibility with IFC.
Reach out to chapters and learn what membership involves. Ask about dues, schedules, academics, and expectations.
Attend recruitment events, typically early in fall and spring. Give yourself room to get to know more than one chapter.
A bid is an invitation to join. Take time to consider the commitment and choose what feels right for you.
Fall: bids are coordinated through IFC.
Spring: chapters set their own schedules.
Ask each chapter for a written breakdown of dues, new-member fees, and additional costs. Compare the full commitment before accepting a bid.
Ask about weekly meetings, service, events, and the new-member schedule. Talk through how participation will fit around classes, work, and other responsibilities.
Use recruitment to explore. Ask IFC and the chapters about the current event and bid process, and take time to compare your options.
Check the official IFC directory and contact Student Leadership & Engagement. The university’s broader FSL page also lists Sigma Nu; ask the office to confirm current chapter participation.
